POLICE say no crime was established after a callout to Stevenston this weekend.

Officers were called to Burnbank Street in the town shortly after 11.30am on Sunday, April 14.

Eyewitness reports from the area describe a cordon being set up by police who arrived at this time.

Police Scotland say they were called to the area following reports of a disturbance before carrying out enquiries to establish the exact circumstances.

A force spokesperson said: "Around 11.35am on Sunday, April 14, we were called to a report of a disturbance on Burnbank Street, Stevenston.

"Officers attended and carried out a number of enquiries to establish the circumstances however no crime has been established at this time."
