Residents in sheltered accommodation have been shocked my North Ayrshire Council's announcement that vital warden services will be axed as part of budget cuts
Councillors voted to remove the wardes in a close 16-14 vote at a meeting last Thursday, leaving many elderly residents in fear for their future.
Protests are now planned.
