SALTCOATS 'STABBING' MAN CHARGED

A MAN has been charged after a serious stabbing attack in Saltcoats.

Donald Weir, 56, is accused of knifing 61-year-old Philip McLaughlin to his severe injury in Glencairn Street on May 8.

Weir made no plea or declaration at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court and was freed on bail for further investigation.
