'ABUSED KIDS IN CARE HOME'

A FORMER youth worker has been convicted of abusing young boys at a Salvation Army care home.

Stewart Burgess, 58, was a trusted senior houseparent at the former Redheugh Adolescent Unit in Kilbirnie.

But he forced his terrified victims to take part in depraved acts after telling them no-one would believe them.

Now justice has caught up with Burgess, of Broomfield Avenue, Cumnock, after he was convicted of child sex abuse dating back 20 years.
