A GLITTERING career capped by more than 100 goals and caps and the award of an MBE in the recent Queen’s Birthday Honours List would be enough to make most sportsmen or women rest on their laurels, basking in not inconsiderable glories.

But not so, legendary Kilwinning footballer Julie Fleeting.

The Arsenal FC striker, who has scored 103 goals from 104 appearances for the Scotland Women’s national side wants to keep on playing and is now setting her sights on helping her country earn a place in the finals of the European Championship or the World Cup for the first time.

This week, the 27-year-old looked back on a glittering career so far and ahead to what she hoped to achieve in future.
