MAN BIDS FOR GO-KART CENTRE
PLANS are on track to convert a derelict warehouse in Stevenston into one of the biggest indoor go-karting centres in the country.
The unit in Stevenston industrial estate, which has lain empty for eight years, will become a two-tracked indoor go-karting centre, if plans are given the green light next month.
Scott McGlinchey, of Kilwinning has applied to North Ayrshire Council planners for permission to convert the building into two race tracks.
He explained: “We have leased the building. The building is ideal although it needs a bit of work. We have had to clear some of the debris as the building has lain empty for a long time.”
The self-confessed ‘petrol head’ aims to help youngsters in the area and believes the centre would be a benefit to the area.
