SAFETY: The officers pictured (from L-R) are - PC Jim Dougall (Community safety, Irvine), PC Andy Rorison, PC David Gray and PC Nicola McKillop (all community safety, Saltcoats).

RESIDENTS of the high flats in Saltcoats will be able to sleep soundly at night because a neighbourhood watch scheme has been started.

The watch will cover the flats at O’Connor Court and Lambie Court and is the 14th to be launched in North Ayrshire in the last 18 months.

Community police have joined forces with residents and they hope that by working together crime and anti-social behaviour will be reduced.
