ROW GROWS AS FISHING BAN BEGINS TO BITE
SEA anglers are protesting about the placement of a high fence that will leave them without a well-known fishing spot.
Two piers at Ardrossan Harbour are out of bounds now that new bylaws have come into place, and a fence has been constructed at the end of the lighthouse pier to stop fishermen casting from there.
The move comes after a 14-year-old girl was wounded by a fishing lure when a group of yobs tried to hook the Arran ferry.
"The majority of well-behaved fishermen will lose out because a minority fail to act in a reasonable manner," fishing enthusiast Brian Dixon (25) said.
