THE STREETS of Irvine were awash with colour as the annual Festival of Light Procession took place on Saturday night.

Flaming torches were held by enthusiastic revellers to brighten the night sky in what has become one of the highlights of the Marymass Festival.

Locals lined the streets to witness the procession as it made its way from the High Street to Irvine Moor - where the night culminated in a spectacular fireworks display.

SEE THE LATEST EDITION OF THE IRVINE TIMES FOR FULL PHOTO COVERAGE OF THE FESTIVITIES.
