DAD-TO-BE, 23, KILLED IN HORROR CAR SMASH

Family and friends of a 23-year-old Stevenston man were in mourning this week after the A78 road claimed yet another life.
Father-to-be Darren Byres died when the Citroen car in which he was a passenger was involved in a collision with a Nissan on the Ardrossan-Seamill road north of Montfode Roundabout.
Darren was cut from the wreckage of the car by firefighters but was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
