THE PROUD family of a three-year-old boy from Kilwinning who battled against a rare blood disease in intensive care have described how happy they are now he is well.

And as wee Gary Brown gets back to normal his mum Pamela said she is relieved the “nightmare” illness that caused all his joints to swell and his lungs to collapse is finally over.
