SALTCOATS GAS LEAK LANDS BOY IN HOSPITAL

A YOUNG boy was rushed to hospital in an ambulance after he was found in an area where ammonia had been leaking at a slaughter house in Saltcoats.

The Fire Service from Ardrossan and Kilwinning were called to the scene on Saturday at 4.40pm after reports of an ammonia leak at the Highland Meats Factory on Blakely Road.

A women who was cycling on the other side of the railway line had smelled the gas and alerted the emergency services immediately.
