WARDEN PROTEST FAILS

A MOVE to over-turn the controversial withdrawal of wardens across North Ayrshire was outvoted by 14 to 12 at a stormy meeting at council headquarters last week.
The SNP group of councillors had joined forces with the Conservatives to put forward a motion to bring back the wardens into sheltered housing complexes - a move that was overruled by the Labour and Liberal democrats on the council.
