TWO thugs desecrated a war memorial days after poppies were laid in remembrance.

Krystal Rae, 21, and Rachel Wilson, 23, ripped a wreath from the cenotaph at New Street, Stevenston, Ayrshire.

At Kilmarnock Sheriff Court the pair admitted the attack, shouting and swearing and breach of the peace on November 18.

Rae, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody for background reports while Wilson, of Boyle Street, Irvine, was fined £180.
