THE Christmas lights in Saltcoats are now twinkling after Friday night’s spectacular switch-on.

Hundreds of people packed the streets and crowded the town centre for the momentous occasion which saw Saltcoats plunge into an array of beautiful lights.

The parade which left from Union Street car park at 6pm wound its way around the town with the 20-strong District Pipe Band leading the way along with the British Legion, Ardrossan Coastguard, Winton Flute Band and the Ardrossan Sea Cadets.
