Regional recognition for tennis ace Meghan

A TALENTED young Saltcoats tennis prodigy, with designs on ultimately turning professional, was called up to represent her region for the first time at the weekend.
Meghan Montgomerie (9), a P5 pupil at Caledonia Primary and daughter of former boxer turned charity marathon runner Jim, was selected to play for South of Scotland Under-10s in an inter-regional tournament on Sunday. The top-ranked player in the team, she competed against youngsters from the North, South and East of the country in the event, staged at The National Tennis Centre in Stirling.
