JADED Buffs saw their promotion hopes dealt a huge blow as their 16-game unbeaten run ended with this disastrous defeat at the hands of Bankies, leaving their hopes of clinching a dream return to the Super League Premier Division hanging in the balance.
However it must be said on this evidence it looked like their hectic schedule of six games inside a fortnight had finally caught up with them as they were well outpaced by a visiting side with little more than pride to play for.
Now Alan McTurk’s battlers will have to go to Valefield Park and defeat Kilbirnie Ladeside in a nail biting final league clash this coming Saturday to secure automatic promotion and avoid the dreaded two leg playoff against the Premier Division’s third bottom club which they lost last year,
Mind you the Abbey Parkers never go about things the easy way - after all last season they had to battle to the death to defeat Girvan in their final match and earn a crack at the playoffs against Glenafton Athletic.
