Ardeer Thistle 1 Girvan 11
DESPITE losing heavily to promotion favourites Girvan, Ardeer can take some positives from this match.
Goalkeeper Michael Laughran could do little to stop any of the goals but he certainly kept the score down with a string of good save.
At times the young Ardeer team played some neat football but once the opening goal went in their heads went down and kept losing goals at regular intervals.
It took Girvan half an hour to break the deadlock due to some good goalkeeping by Laughran and poor finishing. Scott Cleland got the all important first goal netting a MIchael Moffat pass.
Five more goals were added in the next 15 minutes with two from Michael Moffat, two more from Scott Cleland to complete his hat trick-and one from Steve O’Donnell.
