FAST rising athletics star John McCafferty has become one of the first sports stars to benefit from a new awards scheme.
Irvine AC's Scottish champion from Stevenston is one of the first recipients of the ASDA Sporting Chance grant of £500 from ASDA Ardrossan, which will help training and travelling to his tournaments.
ASDA, with the help of SportsAid have compiled a list of the best emerging young talent in the UK and John was chosen to receive their grant for his outstanding performances in athletics.
