GRANTS' GLORY

North Ayrshire Sunday League team the Grants defeated a BPI Select team 8-3 in the annual Charity Cup Trophy game on Saturday.

The Grants take on the sponsors' team every summer for the trophy with the aim of the event to raise funds for a selected charity chosen by both teams.

Andrew Armstrong led the way for Grants with four goals, Steven Griffiths bagged a hat-trick and Andrew Stevenson was also on target.
