Marress men take battle of the bay
IRVINE 17 ARDROSSAN 11
THE match between Irvine and Ardrossan on Saturday began with a minute's silence in memory of Ardrossan, Kilmarnock and Irvine legendary coach Campbell Bone, who died recently.
The family was represented by the attendance of Campbell's daughter and his long-time friend, John Meldrum.
Accies were first out of the blocks when Longwell scored a try within five minutes, extended with a drop goal by Alan Wilson, before Irvine began to take a grip on the game....going in to the break 12-8 ahead.
Early in the second half Wilson hit back for Ardrossan, but Irvine reasserted control.
Man of the match - Sean Christie.
