Stevenston darts player Robert Thornton's world title attempt came to an end in the second round - but he'll be pleased to have won a match at the highest level.

FAST-rising Stevenston darts ace Robert "The Thorn" Thornton, who has rocketed in the world rankings in the past six months, recorded a debut win at the 2009 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championships at London's Alexandra Palace last Friday.
