If your financial history is bad, credit cards are still available to you

In recent years there has been a boom in purchasing on credit, and the 'live now, pay later' lifestyle has become a major part of the modern world. Unsurprisingly, there are plenty who have struggled, especially in recent months. But even for those whose credit history is bad, credit cards are still widely available.

Many companies specialise in supplying cards for those who are a little less financially secure, and many of the major ones provide tailor-made accounts. There are tempting offers around to entice the new customer, so it's important to know what to look for and where to find it.

Comparison websites are perfect for the search. They can easily filter out any inappropriate cards, and in a very short space of time will give the user a clear and concise list of providers that meet all the user's criteria.

For example, if the top priority is shifting a sum of money from an existing card to a new one, simply look for the ones with a low, or preferably non-existent, interest rate on transfer balances. Moving money around in this manner is an excellent way to cut costs, and will bring substantial savings.

If planning some forthcoming spending, any card that offers 0% interest on purchases will be particularly attractive. Companies offer so many tempting deals it's not difficult to find the right one.

The recent worldwide recession has left many people reeling as they struggle to stay above water, but it's reassuring to know that even when things are bad, credit cards are out there to help - despite the current economic climate.
