THE ELECTRICITY WORKS (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT) (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2000
Notice is hereby given that SSE Renewables Developments (UK) Ltd, Company Number NI 43294, 2nd floor, 83 85 Great Victoria Street, Belfast, BT 2 7 AF has applied to the Scottish Ministers for consent to construct and operate a wind farm scheme at Waterhead Moor, which is located approximately 6 km north- east of Largs and 35 km due west of Glasgow (Central Grid Reference NS 2515 6220). The installed capacity of the proposed generating station would be 72.5 MW comprising 29 turbines with a ground to blade tip height of 112 m.
SSE Renewables Developments (UK) Ltd has also applied for a direction under Section 57(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 that planning permission for the development be deemed to be granted.
A copy of the application, with a plan showing the land to which it relates, together with a copy of the Environmental Statement discussing the Companys proposals in more detail and presenting an analysis of the environmental implications, are available for inspection, free of charge, during normal office hours at:The Environmental Statement can also be viewed at the Scottish Government Library at Saughton House, Broomhouse Drive, Edinburgh, EH 11 3 XD.
Copies of the Environmental Statement may be obtained from SSE, Tel No. 0141 225 4548 at a charge of £300 hard copy and £15 on CD/DVD. Copies of a short non- technical summary are available free of charge.

by post to The Scottish Government, Energy Consents Unit, 4th Floor, 5 Atlantic Quay, 150 Broomielaw, Glasgow, G 2 8 LU, identifying the proposal and specifying the grounds for representation, not later than 19 October 2010.
Representations should be dated and should clearly state the name (in block capitals) and full return email or postal address of those making representation. All representations to the Scottish Government will be copied in full to the planning authority.
When initial comments from statutory consultees are received further public notices will give advice on how this information may be viewed by members of the public, and how representations may be made to Scottish Ministers. During the consideration of the proposal, Scottish Ministers may formally request further information to supplement the Environmental Statement and this will also be advertised in such a manner.
As a result of a statutory objection from the relevant planning authority, or where Scottish Minster decide to exercise their discretion to do so, Scottish Ministers can also cause a Public Inquiry to be held.
Following receipt of all views and representations, Scottish Ministers will determine the application for consent in one of three ways:
Consent the proposal as it stands or consent the proposal with conditions; or
Reject the proposal
