THE Eglinton Park branch of the world’s leading green volunteering charity celebrated their first anniversary yesterday.

BTCV - formerly known as the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers - was first set up in 1959, has a long history of environmental conservation volunteering in the UK and around the world won the Charity Times’ Charity of the Year award this year. With the Ayr branch of the charity well-established, BTCV set up its Eglinton Park arm this time last year and - in only 12 months - have transformed not only Eglinton Park itself but the lives of many of the volunteers involved in conserving it.
