VOLUNTEERS were putting their bag packing skills to the test at a Three Towns supermarket to raise cash for the Ardrossan Castle Heritage Society.
The event on Saturday, April 27 raised 800 for the Castlehill project, which aims to make the castle a tourist attraction in the town.
Pat Breen, a member of the society, thanked all those who participated and donated during the Asda Ardrossan bag pack. He gave a special note of thanks to the Ardrossan Youth Association and the Sea Cadets for pitching in and the Society of William Wallace for looking fabulous on the day. A note of thanks was also given to MP Katy Clark for showing her support during the event and for the project. Pat added that there will be a community meeting in June to discuss a proposed archeological dig at Ardrossan Castle in July. Details of the meeting will follow.
