A new website will be launched at North Ayrshire Council's annual care and support exhibition.

More than 100 exhibitors who provide services and care support across North Ayrshire will be at the information exhibition, the largest of its kind in the area.

The free event, called '24/7', will see the launch of a new website aimed at helping people access care services and community information.

The Care & Support North Ayrshire website - careNA - will go live on the day of the exhibition.

North Ayrshire Council worked with an online specialist to create the independent site, which provides information on support services for people who need social care.

North Ayrshire Council Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, Councillor Anthea Dickson, said: "The 24/7 event is the ideal place to launch the careNA website.

"The exhibition brings together services and support - which is exactly what the website offers at the click of a mouse.

"North Ayrshire Council has been one of the first local authorities in the country to support the development of this kind of website.

"The new website will help people to access clear and current information about who is providing what services in their area, as well as what sort of leisure activities are taking place.

"The number of exhibitors at the event just goes to show the range of support and services which are available across North Ayrshire.

"We want people to know about them and to come along on the day to find out more.

"People who use care and support services, their families and carers don't always know what is out there - this is a great chance to find out." Representatives from Council services, independent providers, charity and voluntary organisations will be on-hand to discuss what they can offer individuals and communities.

There will be stalls, workshops and demonstrations throughout the day from service providers from across North Ayrshire.

The '24/7' exhibition takes place at James Watt College in Kilwinning on Wednesday, July 24 from 10am to 4pm.
