CUNNINGHAME Ramblers will be providing a regular opportunity for people who are considering walking as an activity to build up their fitness over the coming months in Eglinton Park.

Starting on Thursday, April 2 a series of walks will be led each Thursday morning until the end of May.

Starting out from Courtyard at the visitor centre at 10am the walks will follow the recently established Ramblers Route which is way-marked from the Tournament Bridge to the edge of the park at Corsehillmuir Woods.  These will be easy walks along a fairly flat path which will last about one hour overall and end on return to the Visitor Centre.

The hope is to attract people who may be unsure about their fitness or who want to  develop their ability to embark on regular walks with the Ramblers.

It is hoped to gradually increase the length of the walks in response to demand and it is envisaged that new walkers might eventually choose to join the Ramblers on their regular programme of walks in South West Scotland.

There are no fees or charges for joining these walks, simply attend at the Visitor Centre Courtyard in good time for a 10am start wearing suitable footwear and clothing ready to encounter the usual variety of springtime weather in Ayrshire.
