PARKING in Saltcoats became chaotic this week as car parks were closed off and time restrictions were implemented.
The new Sainsbury's car park has been temporarily closed due to construction work but was reopened on Wednesday. However this has happened at the same time as The Braes car park was closed off for improvements and new signs were put up in Hamilton Street, outlining a one-hour parking rule.
As the town centre went into meltdown, several residents and businesses contacted us about the parking mayhem.
One resident said: "Hamilton Street has been chaotic because the old Somerfield car park has been closed and people are double parking which made it incredibly dangerous to drive down." FOR THE FULL STORY SEE THIS WEEKS HERALD.
