STEVENSTON beauty pageant contestant and charity fundraiser Stacey McIlroy has won a place in the UK finals of the Crown and Glory Pageant.
Crown and Glory is specially for women who do charity work and Stacey, 34, has been raising money for Dean Puplett who has neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of childhood cancer.
Stacey won the Scotland heat of the contest as well as coming top in the interview, swimwear, fashion, evening and charity rounds.
She has raised nearly £5,000 for Dean’s treatment fund of £250,000 and now goes forward to compete in the UK final in April.
Stacey said: “I feel so proud that I’ve raised a lot of money to help go towards Dean’s treatment.
“He’s the same age as my son and I couldn’t imagine having to raise over £250,000 to pay for his own treatment, so when I heard about it I decided I wanted to help.
Stacey, who owns the Starla beauty salon in Green Street in Saltcoats is continuing to raise funds for Dean.
