THE dream of a few is to become a reality with the creation of two phone box museums in Ardrossan.

Members of the Ardrossan Youth Centre have been working for over two years, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, to create the museums to share memories and community information with everyone in the town, old and new.

The phone boxes have now been placed in their new homes, with one at the Youth Centre and one at the Church of the Nazarene in the town’s Glasgow Street and. They will be officially opened this week.

The launch will take place at the church on Friday from 2-4pm bringing more than two years of hard work to a conclusion.

Residents of all ages have been invited to go along to the event to view the phone box museum and find out more about it.

Organisers have asked that special thanks should go to Eric and Jan Martin at Clyde Marina for donating the phone boxes for this project.

If you would like to use the space for community information or event promotion in the future, contact Helen or Sarah at Ardrossan Youth Centre on 01294 464717.
