TWO teenagers have suffered serious injuries after being involved in a two-car road smash in Beith.
A 17-year-old was driving a silver Honda Civic southbound on the A737 near to its junction with the B777.
It was involved in a collision with a white Peugeot 207 being driven northbound by a 64-year-old man at around 9.50am on Sunday morning.
Emergency services attended and the 17-year-old driver of the Honda and his 16-year-old passenger were taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock where they are both being treated for serious injuries.
The 64-year-old driver of the Peugeot was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he was released after treatment.
Officers at the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Irvine are continuing enquiries.
Officers have appealed for witnesses to the crash, which happened on Sunday, November 15.
