A BOOK of Condolence has been opened to the people of North Ayrshire who want to send heartfelt wishes to the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks.
Residents will be able to leave messages to express their sorrow, sympathy and solidarity in the book over the coming days and weeks.
The book was officially opened by the Provost Joan Sturgeon on Tuesday, November 17.
The provost wrote the first message in the book and revealed she had already sent her own, personal message of condolence to Mayor Rosetti regarding the tragic events in Paris.
She said: “We have strong ties and long established connections with France which have developed over the last few years through our town twinning arrangement with Voisins-le-Bretonneux.
“I have already expressed my sincere condolences to Mayor Rosetti regarding the tragic events in Paris last Friday.”
She added: “I believe it is fitting that North Ayrshire Council opens a Book of Condolence to show how we, in Scotland, stand shoulder to shoulder with the French public.”
