ARDROSSAN Christmas Decorations Committee are busy getting everything organised for the annual Santa parade and lights switch on which takes place on Saturday, November 28.

The parade leaves Stanley Primary School car park at 6pm along Stanley Road, Beggs Terrace, Broadway and McKellar Avenue, finishing at the Civic Centre where Santa will alight from his sleigh to help the Whitlees Gala King and Queen switch on the lights.

Local darts player Andy Boulton will be helping the gala party and Santa switch-on the Christmas lights.

There will be fairground rides, Christmas stalls, entertainment and refreshments inside the civic centre as well as Santas grotto where kids can meet the man in red himself.

If any community groups would like to take part in the parade, have a stall or would like to perform on the stage, please contact Alison Montgomery at the Focus Learning Centre on 01294 604612 or Helen Brown at Ardrossan Youth Centre on 01294 464717.

This year there will also be an extra light situated at the entrance to the Civic Centre in memory of Irene Smith who worked extremely hard as a member of Ardrossan Christmas Decorations to keep the town lit up at Christmas.

The light will be a musical note which depicts Irene’s love of music and will be placed beside the memorial light for her husband Bill who was chair of our committee for many years and depicts a hammer which symbolises his love of building.
