A CAMPAIGN has been launched to ensure vulnerable children in North Ayrshire receive at least one gift this Christmas.

‘With Love’ is a project which was created by Pauline Brady in May of this year, with the first campaign providing over 70 school packs to North Ayrshire Council services for vulnerable children in the three towns and Arran.

Now Pauline, from West Kilbride, is determined to make sure as many children in the area receives a present this Christmas by asking for help from the community.

She is also working with the North Ayrshire Food Bank who have no gifts for the children’s Christmas party they hold which is for around 75 youngsters and the council services in Stevenston who need gifts for their Christmas party.

People are being asked to donate money or even supply newly bought gifts, such as games, Barbies, craft sets, books and puzzles.

As a mother, Pauline understands the importance of Christmas to children and is urging the community to get behind the campaign.

She said: “ I started With Love in May of this year after not being able to find anything similar in North Ayrshire.

“My aim is to gift as many vulnerable children in North Ayrshire as possible with a Christmas gift each year.

“In the summer I ran a successful Back to School campaign and gave over 70 back to school packs to North Ayrshire council services for vulnerable children in the three towns area and Arran.

“This would not have been possible without the generous donations from the local communities.

“For the Christmas appeal I have also been in talks with North Ayrshire Food Bank who this year have no gifts for the

children’s Christmas party they throw for the “Make a Meal of it” kiddies.

“I have pledged to do everything I can to fulfill this void with donations as they need presents for 75 children.

“Also the council services in Stevenston are doing a Christmas party this year for the children in the families they work with.

“I have also said I will work tirelessly to ensure every child has a Christmas gift from Santa at the party. I am waiting for numbers to be confirmed.

“Both of these are on top of the standard donation route through the council to give disadvantaged children a nice gift to open on Christmas morning throughout the area.

“It doesn’t have to be expensive.

“If every person able, spent just £5 on a gift, we would have enough gifts to cover most of North

Ayrshire Council’s vulnerable children and don’t worry, every gift will find a home I can assure that!”

Any donations must be received by December 17.
