Local children from Winton Primary School have been learning about being safe during the winter

The Three Towns school took part in a safety campaign being promoted by an Ardrossan memorials service.

As part of the “Be Safe, Be Seen” campaign, the Co-operative Memorials in Ardrossan donated 180 reflective badges to youngsters in the area.

The badges will help ensure their safety going to and returning from school.

The yellow high visibility reflective pin-badges were given to all pupils and nursery children at Winton Primary School.

Gill Meldrum at Winton Primary arranged the visit and welcomed this road safety initiative by The Co-operative Memorials, advising “The safety of our pupils is of the upmost import to us.”

Marian Reid at The Co-operative Memorials in Ardrossan said: “With the clocks having just gone back, darker mornings and evenings mean youngsters need to take even more care on their way to and from school.

“To help keep children safe and to raise awareness of the importance of road safety we provided reflective stickers to children in at Winton Primary School.

“We also gave a road safety talk to the primary 1-3’s and the nursery class.”
