SALTCOATS Sea Queen for 2016 is Mayfield Primary pupil Kendra Mcnamee and the Captain is Patric Hollywood from Caledonia Primary.
This year’s Saltcoats Queen of the Sea Festival is over the weekend of Saturday, July 16 and Sunday 17.
Kendra and Patric, who are both in P7, were named Queen and Captain during a selection on Thursday, April 21.
Queen Kendra’s Ladies in Waiting are Joy Gilmour from Caledonia Primary, Eve Quinn from St Anthony’s Primary and Aimee Hamilton from Dykesmains Primary.
Captain Patric’s Buccaneers are Arron McGreavy from Dykesmains Primary and Mayfield Primary’s Josh Carswell.
A spokeswoman for Saltcoats Gala Committee said: “The committee would like to thank the young people from the four Saltcoats primary schools, PC Ian Gunn, PC Neil Hayes, Janet Strang from CHA who donated a cheque to us for £1,000, Emma Paterson and George Kidd.”
