A MANHUNT is continuing in Ardrossan after two attempted robberies in the town, just days after a pensioner was mugged in broad daylight.
Police confirmed that they are investigating two incidents of assaults with intent to rob, with the first taking place at 7.25pm in Loanhead Road where a man attempted to steal a woman's handbag.
The second was in Dalry Road at 8.10pm when a man attempted to obtain money from staff within a shop, thought to be the Alpine Stores.
Detectives are carrying out extensive enquiries in relation to both crimes but are unable to say at this stage whether they are linked to each other or the attack in Bute Place on Tuesday afternoon.
