ARDROSSAN Castle Heritage Society recently played host to members of the Scottish Castles Association.
They are a group of people with a shared interest in Scottish castles and their histories.
Following visits to Kilbirnie and Hunterston Castles, the group travelled to Ardrossan and were allowed access to the Castle.
Ardrossan-born David Caldwell, who retired as Curator of the National Museum of Scotland in 2012, gave a brief talk on the Castle’s rich history.
After refreshments and a slideshow in the Indoor Bowling Club, Amanda Simpson, secretary of the Ardrossan Castle Heritage Society, gave an account of the society’s achievements and plans for the Ardrossan Castle Carnival on June 18.
The society is also holding All Write @ Ardrossan Castle, a fun evening of music, storytelling, poetry, comedy and more.
It will take place in Ardrossan Indoor Bowling Club on Friday, May 27 at 7.30 pm.
