A SALTCOATS woman, who raised over £1,000 with a charity bungee jump, is now doing a skydive to raise funds for vital research into blood cancer.

Jennifer Wilde will carry out the thrilling challenge next month in support of Bloodwise – formerly Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research – and Macmillan Cancer Care.

The 22-year-old, who works as a telesales advisor at VOCA in Irvine, said: “It’s a great charity that means a lot to our family.

“When I speak to people, I’m surprised at the amount who have said that they didn’t know you could get blood cancer. This is why I want to raise awareness of it.

“Bloodwise are the specialist blood cancer charity in the UK so that’s why I want to support them.

“I raised money for them in 2014 with a bungee jump when they were known as Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

“All in all I raised £1,340 from the bungee jump. Because I raised so much for them before I want to spread it over two charities this time.

“The Macmillan nurses are just so helpful. I think it’s such a great thing and that’s why I want to support them as well.

“I was so overwhelmed by how much I managed to raise last time and hopefully I’ll be able to hit the £1,000 mark again this time.”

Jennifer is taking part in the skydive at Strathallan in Perthshire on Saturday, June 25.

She added: “I’m quite excited about it but when I did the bungee jump I was excited beforehand and then it hit me just as I was about to do it!

“I am exited about the skydive but I’ll probably be terrified when I’m in the plane!”
