DANCERS from a new Three Towns competition team are on the up after winning the title of regional champions, despite only forming a few months ago.

Charlene and Siobhan Dance Academy (CSDA), a team from Ayrshire-based Charlene Cargill School of Dance, have performed in three major competitions so far and have proved to be serious rivals to world champion dancers.

Coach Siobhan Bryden said: “They have only been training together for seven months and already we have walked away with four first place trophies, one second place, a third and fourth place, two seventh places and the overall second highest score for two divisions they danced in.

“At the Scotcheer National Championships at the SECC in Glasgow we faced teams who were competing at the World Championships in Florida.

“We then competed at our second competition called Dance Inzane which was also in Glasgow and we had a clean sweep of three first places.

“We then finished our first season off with the BATD West Region Cheer Stars competition in Motherwell, where we got first place for Junior Pom, making us regional champions”.
