THE lucky winners of the Herald’s Wedding Photography Competition, Catherine Vance and Robert Paterson, tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Seamill Hydro recently.

David Kerr from Perfect Pictures captured the Ardrossan couple’s big day after they won our wedding photography package at the end of last year.

Catherine said: “The location was perfect and the weather was fantastic.

“It was just lovely to have everybody – all my friends and family – there to share the day with us. The sun was shining, which was really nice. I like to think it was my wee mammy smiling down on me.

“David was fantastic and so professional. Nothing was any hassle for him at all. Seamill Hydro was just fantastic and I couldn’t fault them one bit.”

Catherine, who works in community care, and Robert, a Royal Mail manager, started going out four years ago. The couple had admired each other from afar for many years before Robert finally plucked up the courage to ask his crush out.

The couple chose to have a Scottish and Irish theme for their wedding in honour of Catherine’s late mum who was born in Scotland and brought up in Northern Ireland.

The bride wore a stunning gown from Opus in West Kilbride, while the groom’s outfit was made by Ardrossan Kilt Hire. Entertainment was provided by local band Dizzy Heights, who played a wide range of music across all genres.

The newly-weds are now looking forward to their honeymoon in September when they will go on a cruise in the Greek islands.
