A WOMAN was left shaken after a man entered her house in Stevenston and threatened her.
At around 8.30am on Wednesday, July 20, a man accessed a first floor property in Glencairn Street and threatened the 47-year-old woman who was in the house.
He then ran from the house and towards the service station. The woman was uninjured but shaken as a result of the incident.
Detective Constable Nicola Fraser at Saltcoats Police Station is appealing for information. She said:
“Our initial enquiries have revealed that the suspect was seen standing in Glencairn Street for a short while before entering the house. This is a busy area, and I’m hoping that people may have seen this man acting suspiciously, or have information that may assist our enquiries.
“Our enquiries are continuing and anyone with information should contact Saltcoats Police Office through the 101 number. Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
The suspect is described as white, around 6ft in height and of medium build with short brown hair. He was wearing a navy blue waterproof jacket. He wore his hood up and pulled tight around his face.
