THE Kilwinning Horticultural Society are holding their annual flower show this month - marking a historic landmark in their history.
The society was formed back in 1856, meaning this year marks their 160th anniversary.
Traditionally, the show has been held on the last Thursday of August, which was the local market day in the year of the society’s inception.
Schedules for the event are now available in various shops on the main street, at Sunnyside Nursery and at the library, whilst exhibitors wishing to take part can display their entries from 7 to 10pm on Wednesday, August 24, and also on the day of the show, Thursday, August 25.
The classes for entry include fruit, vegetables, cut flowers, pot plants, baking, wine, homecrafts, floral art and schoolchildren.
Entry is free to all and a tearoom will be open. Regular participants are warmly welcomed back, whilst anyone that has never been is invited to come along and see what they’ve been missing.
