BEERS produced by Arran Brewery have won awards at the International Beer Challenge 2016.

The event is an open competition which judges beers in seven style categories. Arran Sleeping Warrior took a Silver medal and Arran Guid Ale a Bronze Trophy in their respective categories.

Gerald Michaluk, Managing Director of Arran Brewery, said “I am delighted to see the two beers we entered this year both win a medal. I am extremely proud of our brewing team who keep on producing new and exciting craft beers, like Sleeping Warrior while maintaining the quality of our traditional range including one of the brewery’s oldest ales which picked up the Bronze medal Arran Guid Ale.”

Last year in the World Beer awards Arran Sleeping Warrior took the title of the UK’s Best Dark Barley Wine. The beer is named after the skyline of the mountains on Arran that from the right angle look like a sleeping knight with his shield laid across his chest.

The beer is a sold in 330ml bottles and is only currently available from independent retailers weighing in with an ABV of 8.3 and 281 calories per 330ml bottle for those watching their waste line.
