INFORMATION sessions for anyone interested in representing their community are being held in North Ayrshire as part of a campaign to inspire greater participation in community councils.

Local information sessions are to be held in various locations for anyone interested in becoming a community councillor.

If you love your community and feel you can play a part in its future, then this might be your chance to make a positive difference.

The sessions will be held at: Saltcoats Town Hall from 2-4pm on Sunday, August 21; Bridgend Community Centre, Kilbirnie, from 1-3pm on Monday, August 22; Focus Learning Centre, Primrose Place, Saltcoats, from 7-9pm on Wednesday, August 24.

These ‘What You Need to Know’ information sessions will provide key information for those interested as well as illustrating the support which will be available.

Further sessions will be held for those who attend the information events ahead of the elections in November.

Councillor Marie Burns said: “By getting involved in your community council, you will have the opportunity to make a difference to your local community. You will have a voice on issues of importance and play a vital role in influencing decisions and supporting causes on behalf of local communities.” For details email ccreviewandelections@north-ayrshire.gov.uk.
