FIREFIGHTERS were called to a van blaze in Ardrossan, thought to have been caused deliberately.
Two crews from Ardrossan were sent to the scene in Glasgow Lane following a 999 call at around 2.10am on Monday, August 22.
A spokesman from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service told the Herald that firefighters reached the scene in around four minutes and found a van was on fire.
He said: “They immediately moved to tackle the flames using a high pressure jet. We requested Police Scotland attend and the last of our crews left the scene at 2.50pm.”
Firefighters suspected that the blaze was a case of wilful fire-raising.
A spokeswoman from Police Scotland said that the incident had been reported and that enquiries were ongoing.
