North Ayrshire Athletics Club’s seniors have been back out competing this week and have produced some pretty impressive results in the process.

Their very own Super Woman Sharon Law covered 64 miles last weekend along the coastal paths of Cornwall as she took part in the Roseland August Trail (RAT), finishing in an impressive ninth place overall and as the second female finisher.

Midweek saw the Jim Young Marymass 10K in Irvine, with far better weather conditions than last year’s event and representing the club we had Mark Preston (42:02), John Leitch (42:16) and Angela Reid (42:29). Plenty of club support on the night and budding photographer Ian Rutherford out on the course snapping some good action shots.

Weekend action for the club at Paisley 10K with a field of 1,550 excited runners for an early Sunday start of 10am. A fantastic event with a buzzing atmosphere from start to finish and four of their members running a pretty impressive race. Angela Reid got a new PB of 41:28, Ian McIlwraith (40:23), Damian Taylor (42:53) and Mark Preston (41:37)

Club training through the week included a trip to Fairlie Moors for some on Tuesday and a good 5/6 mile road run on Thursday night.

Training at the club this week will be Wednesday at 7:30pm and Thursday at 6pm meeting at track next to St Matthew’s Academy.
