A SCOOTER run in the Three Towns has raised more than £700 for two local schools.
Organised by Ardrossan businessman Pat Breen, the run took part in the Three Towns with over 80 scooters from the West of Scotland taking part.
The event was run in conjunction with the Melbourne Cafe in Saltcoats on their 70th year of existence and links back to its long standing history with mods and northern soul, going back decades.
The collaboration was held earlier this month and there was a collection for James Reid and James McFarlane schools with £750 being raised which will be split between the schools.
Elaine Meney from the Melbourne said: “It was brilliant. A young guy did a set and a local radio station helped out too. We want to try and bring back the people who used to use the cafe.”
