A £1.5 MILLION, seven-acre estate on Arran could be yours for just £55.

James L Clark, owner of Balmichael Centre near Shiskine, decided to raffle off the property for humanitarian charity, Boots on the Ground.

He said: “We got the idea after hearing about the Beitz family in Australia that was giving away their estate in Micronesia this way. It sounded too good to be true, but then we looked into it and they really did it! Some young guy won the whole place. He would never have been able to afford a place like that.

“After a lot of research and consulting lawyers and government officials, we decided to go for it. But there’s one really big difference – we’re not just going to change the life of some lucky winner, we’re donating all of the profits to help those less fortunate than ourselves.”

Balmichael Centre, which is well known to locals and visitors to Arran, sits on roughly seven acres and includes a private home with sea views, multiple commercial units, large parking lot, gym, 42-seat movie theatre, adventure park, duck pond, synthetic ice skating rink, huge coffee shop, and much more.

Winners can keep the property to run as a business, close it to the public and use it as a private holiday retreat, rent it weekly to tourists as a private resort, or even just sell it and pocket the cash.

James added: “We really want to give people an opportunity to win something. Statistically, your chances of winning something in this raffle are about 5,000 times greater than if you play a major Lottery Powerball for example.”
